On February 13, France passed a ban on disposable vapes, a total ban on the sale of disposable vapes, given the reason is to protect young people from the risk of nicotine addiction, while reducing the pollution of the product to the environment.

At present, the disposable vapes ban has been passed by the French National Assembly and the final vote of the Senate, and will be supervised by the competition, consumption and anti-fraud department under the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry to ensure that the industry strictly complies with the regulations.

As a result, France has become the second EU country to introduce a ban on disposable vapes after Belgium, and the third European country to introduce such a ban in recent years after Belgium and the United Kingdom. Among them, Belgium's disposable vapes ban has taken effect on January 1 this year, the United Kingdom will officially take effect on June 1 this year, and France has not announced the effective time of the ban.

"This is a major victory in the two-pronged battle we have been waging: the battle against the polluting lithium batteries in these e-cigarettes, and the battle for the health of our students and children," said lawmaker Francesca Pasquini, the sponsor of France's disposable vapes ban.

Addressing French President Emmanuel Macron, another lawmaker, Michel Lozana, added: "We now await the promulgation of this law and its implementation across the country."

The EU aims to achieve a smoke-free generation by 2040, reducing the smoking population in the 27 EU member states from around 25% today to less than 5%.
